Certified Retinal Angiographer needed for a Temp to Perm job in Boston.
Facilitates patient care by performing a variety of ophthalmic specialty imaging and diagnostic tests for patients. Must be able to identify the ocular anatomy and recognize common ocular pathology. Performs a variety of ophthalmic specialty imaging and diagnostic tests for patients including: Fundus Photography, Fluorescein Angiography, ICG Angiography, Slit Lamp Photography, and External Photography. In addition, facilitates patient care by performing the full scope of Opthalmic Assistant duties and preliminary work up of CRA patient. Typically reports to a Clinical Support Supervisor.
Education: Certified Retinal Angiographer (CRA) Certification by the Ophthalmic Photographers Society Board of Certification (OPS BOC) or eligible within 2 years from hire date. Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Photography (or equivalent education, training or experience) preferred. CPR certification required within 1 year of date of hire.
Skills and Experience: 1-3 years experience working in an ophthalmic/optometric practice setting and knowledge of basic visual testing and certification required. Must be able to effectively apply the concepts of the anatomy and physiology of the eye. Training in diagnostic and treatment procedures, including visual field testing, contact lenses, and ophthalmic surgery. Demonstrated ability to provide situational leadership, excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be able to operate accurately the following equipment: Lensometer, A-scan, B-Scan, OCT Scan, Potential acuity meter, Humphrey visual field machine, Automated tonometer machine, Brightness acuity test machine, Auto refractor, Keratometer, Phoropter, Mattox wing, Tonopen, Statim sterilizer, Projector, Slit lamp.
