Our client, a major medical center in Massachusetts, seeks a billing manager responsible for the daily operations of a 5 person billing staff.. Will manage all facets of professional revenue cycle processes; charge capture/charge review, accounts receivable follow up, customer service, reimbursement management and write off approvals, etc. Works with the Director carrying out management responsibilities including staff performance, work allocation, QA, training, development, hiring and placement. Ensures that the clinic captures all appropriate revenue through proper billing procedures, providing feedback to upper management, Will update clinical and administrative staff on ongoing and new billing issues. Identifies and resolves problems with purpose of achieving goal of maximum revenue and cash flow.
The chosen candidate should have knowledge of accounting, finance, and business management with the ability to prepare clear, comprehensive oral and written communications usually acquired through a BS degree in accounting, business or financial management or related field. MBA would be a plus.
Must have experience with policies, procedures, and systems related to pre-admission, billing/collection, 3rd party regulations, and self=payer guidelines. Should have strong supervisory experience, knowlege of personal computer software spreadsheet programs.
This is within a team environment where you would collaborate with other managers and directors supporting hospital goals and objectives. In addition, would act as liaison to third party representatives negotiating contracts.
